The Atlas Copco WEDA S08N handles thick, soft, wet mud and similarly viscous mixtures of liquids and solids. A vortex-type high-chrome impeller (55 HRC) clears large solids that would clog a standard drainage pump.

Key Features

  • High-chrome cast-iron vortex impeller (55 HRC) for large solids passage
  • Solids handling up to 1" — sludge and light slurry
  • Built-in starter and motor protection — plug and pump
  • Dry-running capability from a carefully sized, heat-dissipating motor
  • Double mechanical seal in an oil bath with robust o-ring design
  • External oil screws so preventive maintenance actually gets done
  • Compact, high power-to-weight ratio for real transportability

Ideal Applications

  • Sludge or light slurry
  • Tank clean-out
  • Trench and pond cleaning
  • Mining and quarries
  • Construction site dewatering

About the WEDA S08N

The Atlas Copco WEDA S08N pumps sludge and light slurry from tanks, trenches and ponds. Its vortex-type impeller provides passage for solids in soft mud and similar mixtures, while the submersible pump works directly in the liquid being removed. Single-phase operation makes it an option for sites without a three-phase supply. Within the S family, the S08N gives a substantial increase in maximum lift over the smaller S04N with only a small change in flow, making it worth considering when the discharge route demands more head.

How the WEDA S08N compares

The 1 HP S08N follows the 0.5 HP WEDA S04N, increasing maximum flow from 62 gpm to 65 gpm while raising maximum head from 33 ft to 50 ft. The main change is therefore lift rather than flow volume. The next WEDA S30N reaches 230 gpm and 52 ft in its 3 HP single-phase version, giving a much higher flow limit within the WEDA pump range.

Questions about the WEDA S08N

What can I pump with the WEDA S08N?

The S family is intended for thick, soft, wet mud and similar liquid-and-solids mixtures. It is used for tank clean-out and trench or pond cleaning when the mixture suits the pump.

How heavy is it, and what power does it need?

The S08N weighs 29 lb, has a 2 inch discharge and uses single-phase power at 60 Hz. Check the electrical supply and discharge arrangement before choosing the installation.

Can it deliver 65 gpm at 50 ft?

Maximum flow and maximum head are not reached at the same time. The 65 gpm and 50 ft figures are separate limits, so use the curve to check the flow available at your required head.
